In Your Head

THINK DIFFERENTLY.
LIVE EXTRAORDINARILY

Most of us have spent our lives ‘in our heads’ – going over and over, and round and round the same history, stories, conversations, events.

We’ve basically brainwashed ourselves to believe something that never actually happened that way in the first place.

I have personally repeated stories from my childhood hundreds of thousands of times – and I am 100% convinced that the events happened the way I recall, but I don’t actually know how accurate that is – not really.

Did the girl in the queue really say ‘You’re not pretty enough to be carnival queen’?

The thing is that because of the emotional charge of the comment made, I replayed it many times over about 40 (!) years (I know right?!)

The thing is that since our subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between what’s real and what’s imagined, every time we replay an old (inaccurate) story, our subconscious thinks it’s happening again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

It’s like Chinese whispers – the story being amended slightly every time we recall it.

So here’s an idea.

LET IT GO.

Stop telling that old story.

Rewrite it.

Literally.

Make it up the way you would like it to have gone.

And the wonderful beliefs you would have created at the time had they gone that way.

It seems weird – rewriting history. But when you look closer at this idea it makes TOTAL sense.

Neville Goddard talked about something similar in his ‘revision’ technique. Taking it to the next level, NG said it actually rewrites the history that happened after that event.

Personally, I have used it to just let go of things that I wish hadn’t gone the way I think they did.

Like my parents who were 21 and 23 at the time having a car that leaked water into the footwell in the back and my brother and I having to step over a pool of water to get into the car after it had rained.

That ‘lack’ view of money and its availability would never been programmed into my mind if my parents had had a brand new Rolls Royce.

The fact is nobody cares if my parents had a Cortina that leaked water or a Rolls Royce. Nobody knows and nobody cares.

Only me and my ‘in my head’ identity that was formed from that incident.

All this nonsense about not being as worthy of riches as the girl across the road whose father was wealthier.

It’s so ridiculous isn’t it – when you read someone else’s nonsense stories.

You can SEE that it’s crazy.

So over to you – what are you going to DECIDE to let go of?

Today.

Personally,

Guinevere
