What do you really want?
I mean, if anything was possible for you, what kind of a life do you really want to live?
I’m talking career/work/business – do you genuinely to the depths of your psyche LOVE what you do?
What about your home – is it the kind of home you really want to live in? If anything was possible?
If you could have any car you want, and go on any types of vacations, travelling there in any style you wish – do you do/have all these things now?
How about your relationships – are they fulfilling and truly happy? If there was no fear and you were guaranteed that everything would work out for you, would you ‘keep’ all the people that are currently in your life?
Here’s the thing – when you were a child you would have believed that anything was possible for you if you had been repeatedly told that over and over and over again without being told anything to the contrary. You would have believed that you could be a superhero if your Mum had told you so.
As you grew up however, most of these beliefs were stamped out of you. You started to believe that you have to ‘settle’ and ‘be grateful because many have less’ and ‘let’s be realistic’ and so on.
But the people and society who taught you those things are not really living the life they want either.
Most people never live in the kind of home they really want to live in – not if they’re 100% honest with themselves.
They don’t drive the car they’d love to drive, they don’t travel to all the places they’d love to visit, they don’t have the freedom to do what they love with their time.
Oh that’s just how life is I hear you say.
Nope. It doesn’t have to be at all the way life is.
Coming from Wales, I grew up watching sheep follow each other around – if one goes that way then they all follow – it’s an instinctive thing, mainly to protect themselves from predators.
But you’re not a sheep and you don’t need protection from predators – so why are you following what everyone else is doing? Why are you doing what ‘they’ say you should do?
‘They’ are all, mostly, going in the wrong way.
So my question to you is this – what do YOU really want? Write it all down – in detail – your dream professional/working life, your ideal personal/home life. And start working towards it.
I know, I know, I can hear your thoughts ticking along as you read this… ‘It’s not as easy as that Guinevere….it’s easy for you to say….. my situation is different’.
No – I’ve been through all those same thoughts, the same fears, the same discomforts.
Here’s the thing – people want everything – a happy life of freedom…. but they want it from where they’re comfortable.
It’s not going to happen my friend.
Successful people – truly successful ones that create the life they really want – they do what other people are not willing to do.
So stop right now and ask yourself – what kind of life do I really want?
And start saying No to everything that isn’t that.
Believe me – in a much shorter time than you ever would have believed, you’ll find yourself living a life that other people only dream of.
And discomfort? Nah – no big deal – it fades into the distant past when you see the pay-off…..
