For around 6 months in 2019, I had started visualizing visiting California. I had watched ‘The Holiday’ around Christmas time and I kept imagining myself in that cab that Kate Winslet’s character Iris was in when she first arrived in LA. If you’ve seen the movie you will know that scene where she opens the window and takes a deep satisfying breath of the warm air, with the back drop of palm trees and the beautiful ocean front.
I had never been to California and there was no logical way I could visit in the foreseeable future, but I carried on imagining it nonetheless.
In August, an email popped into my inbox — I was invited as a guest on the Jack Canfield talk show to discuss The Effortless Framework and my version of the science of success. To quote Oprah Winfrey — “Jack’s true passion is sharing a path to success that can only be achieved by embracing the highest vision each of us have for ourselves”. Likewise, I now train others how to create the life and results that they want by mentoring them to achieve their highest potential.
The filming was in Jack’s home.
In California.
Around the same time, I had also decided to work with Bob Proctor, to learn from him as my mentor. I had a planned visit to Toronto, where Bob lived to meet and work with him for 10 days. A week before the trip, Bob’s team advised me that the location had changed — it was going to be in Los Angeles.
As I took a cab from LAX airport to my hotel, I opened the window and felt the warm air on my face.
Coincidence?
I prefer to call it designing your own life, and then creating it.
I have now just returned from the most magical week in LA with my children, another goal I knew I would achieve this year.
Whatever it is, that power is also in you.
