Nothing has meaning.
Other than the meaning you give it.
For example – let’s say you see someone you know, you stop to talk with them for a few minutes; they seem cold, hostile even.
After you walk away, your inner-chatter starts “What have I done? Why was he being so cold? Is it because I didn’t include him in that event I organised I wonder? Maybe it’s because he thinks I’m competitive. Or could it be that he just doesn’t like me. Maybe other people don’t like me either. I can be full-on. Maybe I should calm my personality down, fit in more. Maybe I’m in the wrong career, I knew I should have become a doctor – that would have been easier – everyone just focused on saving lives instead of looking at what other people are doing. It was my parents fault – they didn’t want me to be a doctor. Or maybe it was my maternal grandfather fault, he was very strict with my Mum when she was a child…’
And on and on it goes.
Suddenly, this person who maybe had a fight with their spouse that morning has you making up all kinds of meanings in your head.
So take things at face value. It is what it is. Keep your mind focused on where you’re going.
Because you create your life, not the person who maybe had a fight with their spouse that morning.
Nothing has meaning, other than the meaning you give it.
